Her films, based upon the histories of relatively unknown adventurers and eccentrics, have  screened internationally in festivals and museums, including the Sundance Film Festival and the Guggenheim Museum. Her upcoming novel, <em>Flirting with Death</em>, is based upon the life of a Kansas farm girl turned world-famous motorcycle daredevil Lillian La France. <p>Alexander Privitera is a television journalist. He is currently the US correspondent for the German news channel N24. He is also a frequent contributor to the Washington DC-based think tank <a href="http://www.aicgs.org/index.aspx" target="_blank">AICGS</a> and sometimes appears on Fox News and MSNBC. His career includes five years as N24 anchor in Berlin, stints as European Correspondent for N-TV in Brussels and as a political correspondent in Bonn, and a previous tenure as US correspondent for N24, from 1998 to 2004. In 2009, he returned to Washington DC where he now lives with his wife and three children. Alexander was born in Rome, Italy 45 years ago and has a degree in political science from the Roman University „La Sapienza“.</p>

His new book, <a href="http://radiofreemike.com/nonfiction/sweetness-and-blood" target="_blank">Sweetness and Blood</a>, a work of folk history and travel about the spread of surfing, is forthcoming from Rodale Books. He’s the European Dispatch columnist for <a href="http://www.miller-mccune.com/" target="_blank">Miller-McCune</a> magazine in California, and he’s written about politics and travel for <em>The Atlantic Monthly</em>, <em>The Financial Times</em>, <em>Slate, Salon, </em>and the <em>Los Angeles Times</em>.</p>
