Germans on America: Alexander Privitera

Alexander Privitera is a television journalist. He is currently the US correspondent for the German news channel N24. He is also a frequent contributor to the Washington DC-based think tank AICGS and sometimes appears on Fox News and MSNBC. His career includes five years as N24 anchor in Berlin, stints as European Correspondent for N-TV in Brussels and as a political correspondent in Bonn, and a previous tenure as US correspondent for N24, from 1998 to 2004. In 2009, he returned to Washington DC where he now lives with his wife and three children. Alexander was born in Rome, Italy 45 years ago and has a degree in political science from the Roman University „La Sapienza“.

Very amusing but scary too. I have never worried about bureaucracy and rules in the US, and always found Europe much more rule bound and obsessed, but if you’re on the wrong side in the US, it’s not much fun. I now never leave home without my newly awarded Maryland driver’s license!
