This is a good story, but just one little criticism: what drew the author to Berlin if not cheap rents and time to write ? Isn’t he doing exactly the same as the urban penners he so derides? My guess is, he’s an English teacher, who writes articles on the side and, no doubt, has a novel on the way. People in glass houses and all that. Still an excellent bit of observation- very accurate and nicely written. Well done.
